Hypertension is commonest chronic non communicable disorder found all over world. It is also called as silent killer because in its patients remain mostly asymptomatic but on the other hand it causes target organ damage; it is also a major risk factor for Coronary vascular diseases like Stroke and myocardial infarction. It is a global health problem affecting the people of different ethnicity & ages around the world. In modern medicine the aim of the treatment for hypertension is to prevent the risk of coronary heart disease & cardiovascular disease. Though a lot of potent antihypertensive drugs are available today in modern medicine, but none of them is free from side effects. Hypertension is not mentioned in Ayurvedic text as it is, but on the basis of Ayurvedic principle we can understand the Samaprapti (ethiopathogenesis) of Hypertension & according to that we can treat the disease. Improper food habits and modern sedentary lifestyle with or without genetic predisposition provokes and vitiates all the Tridoshas to trigger the pathogenesis of hypertension. Thinking about the disease the main causative factor is vitiated Vata it may be only Vata or in combination with Pitta or Kapha . According to etiology we can treat the disease in two ways either by Shamana Chikitsa (only medicine) or by Shodhana Chikitsa (purificatory procedures). This article explains the Ayurvedic view of hypertension which will help in diagnosis as well as its proper management .

Hypertension is a significant health challenge due to its prevalence and associated risk of cardiovascular diseases and target organ damage. Due to the silent nature of not presenting early signs and symptoms it becomes very dangerous to the heath. Though there is no condition described in Ayurveda that is comparable to hypertension, this study is conducted to find out probable pathogenesis of hypertension in terms of Dosha, Dushya, Nidan panhaka and Causitive factors according to ayuredic literature. In the end we found that Hypertension is a psychosomatic Vatapradhan Tridohaj vyadhi of Raktavaha Srotas in which Rasa, Rakta and Manas are the Pradhan Dushyas.

Mucormycosis is an opportunistic angio-fungal illness that has returned owing to a variety of factors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of the limits of existing therapies, prevention is the preferred method. Fungi have the ability to invade blood vessels and can affect different parts of the body. The most common, though the most aggressive, form is cerebro-rhino-orbital Mucormycosis that occurs in debilitated patients, in conjunction with sinus or para-sinus involvement. Ayurveda has a vital role to play in prevention, which requires a previous grasp of the problem in its own jargon. Mucormycosis is an external disorder that exhibits divergent symptoms after originally following a shared pathogenetic pattern. In terms of diet, regimen, medication, and treatments, Kapha and Pitta (particularly in terms of Snigdha and Usna characteristics) have a significant impact. Current Ayurvedic knowledge should be applied successfully in diagnosing, staging, preventing, and treating mucormycosis patients. Their curative role as adjuvant and standalone therapies are subjected to further research.

A varicose ulcer is also known as venous ulcer or venous stasis ulcer. Varicose ulcers are wounds that are thought to occur due to chronic venous insufficiency, usually of the leg. Its improper care can cause cellulitis, gangrene and may need amputation of the part of limb. Conventional treatment like compression stocking, foot elevation, antibiotics and regular dressing of wound though is effective but required surgical intervention and not always affordable. However, recurrence of venous ulcer is common, ranging from 54 to 78% by the fifth year after healing.According to ayurveda, varicose ulcer correlated with ‘Siragat vat janya vrana’. Sushruta has described shashti upakrama for wound management e.g. vranashodhana, vranaropaka etc. Patient with varicose ulcers was advised to take kanchanar Guggule and Guduchi swaras internally, Sahachar tail snehan over lower limb and daily dressing with Jatyadi tail which provide very effective and the ulcer healed completely in 4week.

Panchakarma's goal is sodhana (purification). A illness does not return after being treated with the sodhana method. Metallic Bhasmas are highly valued and have their own importance in Ayurvedic formulations. Tamra Bhasma with its different properties used in the treatment of various diseases is quite famous among Ayurvedic physicians. Though several methods of preparation of Tamra Bhasma are found in Rasashastra classics, several difficulties occur during the preparation of good quality Bhasma. In this study, Tamra Bhasma was prepared and analytically studied. Each procedure was considered as an independent processing and an attempt was made to validate each procedure. Wires used for the purpose of electrical earthing were taken for the preparation of Bhasma. Procedures of Shodhana, Marana, and Amrutikarana were followed as per the classical references. A specific temperature pattern was adopted for Puta. Bhasma Pariksha was done as per Ayurvedic as well as Modern Parameters.

Herpes zoster is a localised disease caused by reactivation of the varicella zoster virus [ 1] that enters the cutaneous nerve endings during an earlier episode of chicken pox, travels to the dorsal root ganglia, and remains in latent form. The condition is characterised by occurrence of multiple, painful, unilateral vesicles and ulceration, and shows a typical single dermatome innervated by single dorsal root or cranial sensory ganglion. Involvement of three or more dermatomes is known as disseminated zoster and seen in immunocompromised individuals. Complications of herpes zoster include ocular sequelae, bacterial superinfection of the lesions, meningoencephalitis and postherpetic neuralgia. The incidence of herpes zoster increases with age and immunosuppression, therefore prompt management is necessary to avoid morbidity and mortality in these individuals. We present one case reports of herpes zoster, involving the maxillary and mandibular branches of the trigeminal nerve.

Ashmari (urinary stones) is the condition in which there is formation of a substance like stone. [4] Mutrashmari (urinary stone) is one among the Ashtamahagada (eight fatal conditions). [2] It is considered difficult to cure because of its Marma Ashrayatwa due to involvement of Basti, which is one of the Tri Marma (three vital parts), being the Vyakta Sthana. [3] It is Kapha predominance Tridoshaja Vyadhi.[4] As per the clinical features, it is compared to urolithiasis. It is the formation of stony concretions in the bladder and urinary system. It is the common diseases of Mutravaha strotas (urinary tract) that occur due to disequilibrium between stone inhibiting and promoting factors in the urinary system. [5] Ayurveda states that Mutrashamari is Kapha dominant Vyadhi. Specific dosha dominant prakriti are more prone to that specific dosha dominant vyadhi. It has been said that certain Prakriti individuals are liable or prone for certain disease. Symptoms of Mutrashmari can lead to various urological complications. Formation of Urine is based upon dietary factors that is, diet according to prakriti can have specific effect on Mutrashmari. Therefore, specific dosha dominant Ahaar Vihaara can cause specific dosha dominant disease and can lead to serious complications. [1] The probability of disease manifestation in relation with specific prakriti needed to be practically observed and understood. By knowing the prakriti one will know about the strength of person to combat with diseases as person having equilibrium in prakriti is said to be having best immunity and strength. [1] Hence the present work an attempt has been made to elaborate the relation of Mutrashmari with Deh-Prakriti.

Ashraya Ashrayi Bhava deals with the interdependency of Dosha, Dhatu and Mala. If Dosha get vitiated they will vitiate Dhatu and Mala and cause wide array of diseases i.e. when Pitta and Kapha increases or decreases respective Dhatu will also increase or decrease but the exception is Vata and Asthi. Vata and Asthi are inversely proportional i.e. when Vata aggravates the Asthi dhatu decreases and vice versa. As Vata is located in Asthi, due to its lightness, Vata keeps the bone light. Bones are basically made up of Prithvi Mahabhuta (earth element) Vata dosha located in this earthy bone keeps the interior of the bone porous and light. So when due to any reasons Asthi’s porosity increases i.e. when Asthikshaya happens in the body simultaneously Vatavriddhi also occurs. Asthikshaya may be compared to osteoporosis, in which there is decrease in bone mass and leading to increase in bone fragility and susceptibility to fractures. Osteoporosis is often referred to as 'silent disease', because bone loss occurs without symptoms. Measuring the bone mineral density remains the only important tool in the early diagnosis of Osteoporosis; so that the effective, preventive and therapeutic measures can be initiated. According to Ayurveda, classical signs and symptoms of Vatavriddhi incudes Anidrata (insomnia), that means Asthikhaya indirectly hampers quality of sleep (Nidra). Hence foresight of this study is to focus on sleep quality of patient during doing treatment of any Vatavyadhi.

Being the principle seat of Vata dominance in pathology any dearrangements in Asthi dhatu leads to different kinds of diseases. The Asthi dhatu is considered as the Aashraya of Vata because of its Kharatwa (hardness) due to Prithvi Mahabhuta and Vata is Sushir (porous) because of its Aakash Mahabhuta. So, if there is Vata Vruddhi that will lead to Sushirta in Asthi dhatu causing Asthi Kshaya. So it is important to clinically evaluate the features of Asthidhatu Kshaya as the beginning signs of osteoporosis/ osteopenia.
